Oil Trading Orientation

details

A three-day, highly interactive workshop covering crude oil and petroleum products trading.

The course is designed for people who work with traders, in operational, IT, accounting or other support roles.  Competitive team trading exercises form an important part of the learning process, and you’ll spend time buying crude oil to supply a refinery, spotting arbitrage opportunities in refined products markets, using swaps and options to hedge an airline’s fuel exposure and trading futures using technical analysis techniques.  We’ll also explore market fundamentals, trading strategies, pricing mechanisms and the mechanics of oil trading and transport.

A one-day introduction to the storage of natural gas, LNG and LPG, from practical issues to trading and hedging around storage.

This one-day course provides an overview of hydrocarbon gas storage, including natural gas, LNG, natural gas liquids, LPG, propane and butane.  Delegates will learn about the different types of storage (underground, above-ground, pressure and cryogenic), the markets for the various gases, regional supply and demand balances and global trends.  We will also review the major storage operators, key storage hubs and storage market trends.
